Beautifully printed in hardcover with black and red ink gaphic soft fabric-like paper. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking to get a strong fundamental understanding of grid systems in design. I also feel dumb for not picking up on such a simple and utterly ubiquitous concept.
The systematic grids and margins explained in this book are extremely tight. The layout of the book is as interesting as its content.

As long ago as the twenties works conceived in objective terms and composed in accordance with strict principles were being produced in the fields of typography, graphic design and photography in Europe. Articles published mainly in trade journals then followed.
This won’t bore you with maxims, commandments or such fixated rules. It offers many examples as it explains simple grid systems that are very versatile. It is an established tool that is gaphic by print and web designers to create well-structured, balanced designs.
The countless redundancies, though, made it a little hard to read. I learned halfway through reading this that some of my favorite designers don’t use grids in their work.
