The Dark Side had been treated as a separate entity from the Light and it was with Jacen’s time that the two were begun to be seen as an individual’s choice and not two distinct factions. Not to mention beheadings, multiple broken bones, dis-arming literallyand burst blood vessels. I’ve read so much Zahn lately, and in those books Leia and Han are an established, loving couple, and I got to see the development of Mara and Luke’s relationship.
It’s all embarrassing and unenjoyable.
The Millennium Falcon had been forced to couttship on Dathomir itself, where it is captured by the Imperial garrison Zsinj had marooned on the surface years ago. This is such an absurd, deplorable moment that Han simply cannot function as orincess adequate hero after this point; that Leia ultimately forgives him and marries him is ridiculous because of the events leading up to that marriage.
