I love this series, but I’m several books behind, so I need to get caught up.
I love the way the author sometimes mashes multiple fairy tales together into something new. I really do need to read more of this series, I have read bk 1 and loved it.
Thanks for letting me know that each book is stand alone for the most part. That will make it easier for me to pick up: I haven’t heard of this series.
lqckey I don’t know anything about her books, but now I know the first book in her Kingdoms books so that’s somewhere to start right? Good review even if you didn’t like the werewolves in your fairy tale! Post a Comment Thanks for taking the time to stop and comment!
I appreciate it more than I can say. I try to respond to each one!
{FTF Review} BEAUTY AND THE WEREWOLF by Mercedes Lackey
Welcome to Fairy Tale Fortnight, home of fairy tale lovers everywhere! Check out my daily schedule of events! This cover beuty has the same tone of the other books in the series despite its darker appearance. The title and merccedes still appear in the same format, embossed and against a square block, with the same swirly design stamped on.
This time, the cover leads one to believe the fairy tale about to be ladkey is that of Little Red Riding Road, what with that bright red cape and the wolf in the background. I’ll admit that the combination of werewolves and an overly buxom maiden who, rather than demure, looks more like a bar wench herehad me glad to put this one aside until Fairy Tale Fortnight.
Werewolves in my fairy tales? I do, however, like the way the wolf’s werewolff has him howling at the moon in front of a beautiful, seeming-abandoned castle rising out of the fog. The same wolf silhouette is at the beginning of every chapter: Sunny April 19, at 3: Kristina April 19, at 5: Brandileigh Blkosiners Book Blog April 19, at 9:
